Dr. John B. Dickinson recently celebrated an extraordinary milestone—50 years in dentistry—marking a career defined by dedication, compassion, and a deep love for teaching. Inspired by his father, Dr. Dickinson discovered his passion for dentistry at a young age and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto before being accepted into its prestigious dental school. During his studies, he spent his summers both learning from respected professors and sharing his knowledge through lectures of his own.

After relocating to Bermuda, Dr. Dickinson established his own dental practice, where his commitment to education continued to flourish. He became known not only for mentoring colleagues but also for empowering his patients with knowledge and care. His kind, supportive nature and gentle touch helped him build a trusted practice—one smile at a time.

Of his four children, one followed in his footsteps and has since taken over the family practice, now known as Toothworx Ltd. Though officially retired, Dr. Dickinson has recently returned in a guiding role, offering his experience and wisdom to support a new generation of dentists and to continue serving the Bermuda community he holds so dear.

Associate Dentist

Dr. Monica earned her dental degree in Spain in 2014 before relocating to the UK, where she practiced as a general dentist and developed a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of dentistry. She went on to complete a Master’s degree in Oral Surgery at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute, UCL, where she further honed her clinical expertise.

Driven by a genuine passion for oral surgery, Dr. Monica has continued to advance her skills with postgraduate training in Oral Implantology. She is dedicated to delivering high-quality care and staying at the forefront of modern techniques and research.

Dr. Monica believes that a warm smile is a universal language. Her interest in dentistry stems not only from its connection to smiles, but also from its unique blend of science, precision, and patient care. She is committed to helping patients feel comfortable, confident, and well cared for throughout their treatment journey.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Monica enjoys hiking and traveling, often combining both passions into adventurous and rewarding experiences.

CEO/Dental Hygienist

Laura Myers has built her career in dentistry on a strong foundation of science, compassion, and family values. With a natural passion for the sciences, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph before continuing her journey in Toronto at George Brown College, where she was accepted into the Dental Hygiene program.

After completing her diploma, Laura spent three years practicing dental hygiene throughout the Greater Toronto Area, gaining valuable hands-on experience and developing a patient-centered approach to care. In 2009, she returned to Bermuda to join her father, Dr. John B. Dickinson, in his dental practice.

Following the birth of her second child, Laura embraced a dual role—continuing to care for patients as a part-time dental hygienist while stepping into the responsibilities of managing the practice. Her leadership, dedication, and shared values with her father played a pivotal role in the evolution of the business. Laura ultimately took over the practice, oversaw the construction of a new location, and successfully led its transition and growth into what is now known as Toothworx Ltd.

At the heart of Laura’s work is her unwavering commitment to her patients and her team. She is dedicated to fostering a supportive, caring environment where both staff and patients feel valued, continuing the legacy of excellence established by her family. Outside of her professional life, Laura values staying active and maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle. She enjoys spending time with her children, keeping busy with fitness—whether at the gym or out running—and making the most of Bermuda’s outdoors through boating, beach days, and time in the sun.

Ashley brings a dynamic blend of scientific knowledge, leadership experience, and organizational expertise to her role at Toothworx. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University and went on to build a successful career in education, spending more than 12 years teaching high school science. During that time, she also served as Head of the Science Department, where she demonstrated strong leadership, mentorship, and a commitment to fostering both academic excellence and collaboration among staff and students.

In 2025, Ashley transitioned into the dental field, joining Toothworx as Operations Manager. In this role, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the practice, coordinates the team, and ensures a seamless, efficient experience for both patients and staff. Her thoughtful approach, attention to detail, and ability to connect with people have made her an integral part of the practice. Ashley’s dedication and work ethic reflect her core values, and she consistently contributes to creating an organized, professional, and welcoming environment.

Outside of work, Ashley is a devoted mother to her two children, who keep her happily busy. She has always enjoyed an active lifestyle and has a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Whether swimming, biking, or running, Ashley thrives on staying active and challenging herself. She has participated in many of Bermuda’s local races, including the May 24th Half Marathon and the Mountain Bike Series, further reflecting her energy, discipline, and enthusiasm for community involvement.
